| KARIN MULLER Film Biography In 1995 Karin Muller spent seven months hitchhiking alone across Vietnam. She produced a highly acclaimed one-hour PBS special, which subsequently aired on NGT’s global channel. Her companion book (Hitchhiking Vietnam) was Globe-Pequot’s number-one spring title, and the accompanying PBS website won numerous internet awards. In 1999 she appeared in a National Geographic lecture series in Washington D.C. and Seattle. In 1998 Karin produced a 90-minute documentary series of her seven-month journey Along the Inca Road for National Geographic’s global channel. A 47-minute version aired on Explorer (MSNBC) in March 2000. The companion book (National Geographic Adventure Press) was published in 2000. It was since been translated into five languages, and was accompanied by a lecture series at National Geographic in 2001. In 2001 Karin returned from a year in Japan, where she filmed a four-hour adventuredocumentary series entitled Japanland. The companion book is being published by Rodale Press (October, 2005) and the documentary series will air nationwide on public television from 2005-2009. Karin will be giving lectures on Japan at National Geographic, various universities, and overseas in 2005 and 2006.
